State Route 86 Relocation Resumes
Concord and Painesville Townships, Lake County
March 31, 2008, Garfield Heights, OH…Crews have resumed work to relocate State Route 86 in Concord and Painesville Townships, Lake County.
State Route 86 between Big Creek and the City of Painesville water tower is closed. Local traffic will be maintained from Big Creek to Helen Hazen Park from the south only. This closure will remain in effect until approximately November 15, 2008.
Motorists are detoured via State Route 84, State Route 44, I-90 and Vrooman Road. Detours are posted.
During the coming weeks, crews will work to remove pavement and fill for use in the relocated portion of State Route 86.
On State Route 84, crews currently work to install storm sewers and water-main between Union Sand and Charlotte Street, traffic is maintained with one lane in each direction. Paving of this portion will begin in the spring of 2008.
The entire project will realign approximately one mile of SR 86 from a point approximately 700 feet north of Grandridge Pointe Drive to State Route 84. The project is expected to be complete in the fall of 2009.
