State Route 91 & U.S. 20 Intersection Upgrade Project Moves Forward
State Route 91 southbound will be reduced to one lane

Garfield Heights, Ohio (Friday, August 13, 2010)Beginning Monday, August 16, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Karvo Paving Company of Cuyahoga Falls will close one lane of State Route 91 southbound between State Route 2 and U.S. 20 until approximately mid October 2010.  One lane will remain open for use.

Crews will be performing work to upgrade the intersection of State Route 91 and U.S. 20.  Intermittent lane closures are also expected on U.S. 20 between SR 91 and Shankland Road as part of this work.

The project includes extending the duel left turning lanes and the right turning lane on State Route 91 southbound to U.S. 20 to increase traffic flow efficiencies at the intersection.  Crews will also upgrade traffic signalization on U.S. 20 at SR 91 and Plaza Drive and resurface SR 91 between U.S. 20 and the City of Eastlake corporation line.

Work will take place four to five days a week – Monday through Friday – from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Traffic will be maintained.

Night and weekend work is expected.  Details will be forthcoming.

The entire project is scheduled to be complete on, or around, June 30, 2011.
