Attention Downtown Commuters: Starting March 11, crews will begin work to set structural steel beams over Ontario Street near Progressive Field. This will require both daily and nightly traffic restrictions for about three weeks. Work will be coordinated and closure times will be adjusted to minimize disruption to downtown events. More info is below. Continue to visit Innerbelt.org for all the latest Innerbelt news!
Downtown/Gateway District Impacts:
**All work will take place March 11-28.
· Motorists should expect daily lane restrictions along inbound Ontario and nightly (Mon-Thurs) closures of Ontario Street. Daytime delays for inbound Ontario motorists are expected. During overnight closures of Ontario Street, inbound motorists will be detoured via E 14th to E 18th to Carnegie to Ontario. Ontario outbound motorists will be detoured left onto Carnegie (this movement is normally prohibited & will ONLY be allowed during these closures) and right onto E 9th Street outbound to Ontario/Orange.
· Motorists who use the I-77 north ramp for exit 163 (E 9th Street) will have access to inbound E 9th Street ONLY and will not have access to Ontario Street via this ramp. Use E 9th Street to Huron to Ontario. This restriction will be in-place around-the-clock.
· The Ontario exit from I-90 east will be closed Mon-Thurs nights, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Use Broadway or E 9th Street.
· The Ontario ramp to I-77 south will be closed Mon-Thurs nights, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Use E 9th Street.
Regional Interstate Impacts: On Saturday, March 9, ODOT maintenance crews will close the left two lanes of the Innerbelt Bridge westbound from 7 a.m. to noon in order to make repairs in the vicinity.
Attention Transit Users: Because of Innerbelt construction work, buses will replace all rail service east of Tower City on Sunday, March 10.
