Traffic Changes are Coming to SOM Center Road in Eastlake
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Friday, March 17, 2017) – Work to replace the SR 91 (SOM Center Rd.) bridge over SR 2, Lakeland Blvd and the CSX Railroad tracks began in early-March with daily single lane closures for preliminary maintenance of traffic work.
**Due to inclement weather, the restriction of SR 91 northbound over SR 2 to just one lane has been postponed to Monday, April 10. At that time, northbound SR 91 will also be reduced to one lane between Euclid Avenue and Vine Street and all traffic will be shifted on to the existing southbound lanes of the SR 91 bridge and will be maintained with one lane in each direction.
Due to the lane configuration across the bridge, left turns will be prohibited from SR 91 north and southbound to enter SR 2.
SR 91 north motorists destined for SR 2 west will be detoured via SR 2 east to Vine St. to SR 2 west. SR 91 south motorists destined for SR 2 east will be detoured east on Vine St. to SR 2 east.
Traffic will remain in this configuration through fall 2017.
