Truck Traffic Restricted on Herman Avenue Bridge over State Route 2
Truck Restrictions in Place Starting Today
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Wednesday, December 19, 2012) – Beginning today, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will restrict all truck traffic on the Herman Avenue bridge over State Route 2 in the city of Cleveland.
By removing heavy truck traffic, the bridge can safely remain open to cars and other small vehicles until repairs are complete. The Herman Avenue bridge over SR 2 is currently under design for a steel repair and concrete work. Repairs are tentatively scheduled for 2014.
All heavy truck traffic will be detoured off the bridge effective immediately. Detours for large trucks wanting to access Herman Avenue westbound will be to continue on SR 2 westbound, exit at Edgewater Park and turn left, enter SR 2 eastbound and exit at West 45th Street.
Detours for large trucks wanting to access Herman Avenue eastbound will be east on Detroit Avenue, north on West 28th Street, east on Washington Avenue, south on West 25th Street to SR 2 westbound. Access to businesses on West 45th Street on the north side of SR 2 will be maintained.
