U.S. 20 and McMackin Road Intersection Improvement Alignment Selected
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Friday, February 1, 2013) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has completed analysis and public comment review for the proposed improvements to the intersection of U.S. 20 (North Ridge Road) and McMackin Road in Lake County’s Madison Township.
After taking into consideration business, residential and utility impacts to adding the left-turn lane in each direction on U.S. 20 at the intersection of McMackin Road, the southern alignment was selected. This choice has the least impact with regard to utility involvement and to property owners.
The purpose of the project is to improve safety at the heavily traveled intersection. The proposed project would install a left-turn lane in each direction on U.S. 20 at the intersection of McMackin Road, improving the visibility of on-coming traffic.
Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2015 and be complete by fall 2015.
