Weekend Work beginning April 23, 2010

Garfield Heights (Friday, April 23, 2010)In addition to permanent work zones and daily work plan, the following work is scheduled to take place over the weekend in Cuyahoga and Lake Counties:

Weekend Long Work:
I-271 Resurfacing, Warrensville Heights, Pepper Pike, Beachwood, Mayfield Heights, Orange & Woodmere…For three consecutive weekends – beginning Friday, April 23 – the I-271 northbound Express Lanes will be closed between Emery Road and U.S. 322 (Mayfield Road) beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and will remain closed through 6 a.m. Monday morning for milling operations.  Northbound traffic will be detoured onto the local lanes.  The I-271 southbound Express Lanes and all Local Lanes will remain open.

I-90 Major Pavement Reconstruction, Village of Madison, LeRoy, Perry and Madison Townships
On Sunday, April 25, crews will begin a project to reconstruct pavement on I-90 between Paine Road and the Ashtabula County Line.  Crews will close one lane of traffic on portions of I-90 eastbound between Paine Road and the Ashtabula County Line beginning Sunday evening at 7 p.m. and continuing until 2 p.m. the following day.  This work will continue six days a week – Sunday night through Saturday morning – for approximately six weeks as crews construct temporary crossovers on the east and west ends of the project and replace the shoulders with temporary pavement.  A single lane closure on portions of I-90 westbound will also be in effect between the Ashtabula County Line and Paine Road each night from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for approximately six weeks for cross-over construction and shoulder work. Rush hour traffic will not be affected by this work.  Traffic will be maintained with two lanes in each direction through the duration of the project utilizing temporary crossovers.
