Weekend Work beginning October 1, 2010
Garfield Heights (Friday, October 1, 2010) – In addition to permanent work zones and daily work plan, the following work is scheduled to take place over the weekend in Cuyahoga and Lake Counties:
Overnight Friday, October 1:
State Route 91 Signal Upgrade and Turn Lane Addition, Cities of Willoughby Hills and Willoughby
Overnight Friday, October 1, crews will close multiple lanes of SR 91 between I-90 and Classic Drive from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. as milling operations take place. Delays are expected. Crews work to upgrade traffic signals on the I-90 ramps at SR 91 and Classic Drive and add a turn lane on SR 91. This project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Tentative completion date: November 30, 2010.
Overnight Sunday, October 3:
State Route 17 (Libby Road) Deck Replacement, Maple Heights
Overnight Sunday, October 3, crews will close the Libby Road bridge from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning in order to shift traffic. Motorists will be detoured via Rockside Road, Dunham Road and Granger Road. Crews will replace the bridge deck in two phases beginning with the southbound lanes in 2010, followed by the northbound lanes in 2011. Tentative completion date: October 2011.
Weekend Long Work:
Phase II State Route 2 Modernization & Lane Addition, Eastlake, Mentor, Willoughby
Beginning Friday, October 1 at 7 p.m. and continuing through Monday, October 4 at 6 a.m., SR 2 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Lost Nation Road and Vine Street as pavement is placed. The entire project rehabilitates SR 2 and adds a lane between SR 91 and Newell Creek/SR 306. Tentative completion date: October 2011.
