Weekend Work beginning October 15, 2010
Garfield Heights (Friday, October 15, 2010) – In addition to permanent work zones and daily work plan, the following work is scheduled to take place over the weekend in Cuyahoga and Lake Counties:
Overnight Friday, October 15:
I-90 Eastbound Ramp over I-271 Deck Replacement, Willoughby Hills
Overnight Friday, October 15, crews will close I-90 eastbound over I-271 from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. in order to pour the bridge deck. Motorists will be detoured via I-271 southbound to U.S. 322 (Mayfield Road) where they may reenter I-271 in the northbound direction and continue on to I-90 eastbound. Crews have restricted traffic to one lane on the I-90 eastbound ramp for the duration of the project. Intermittent overnight lane closures on I-271 beneath the bridge are also expected. The entire project replaces the deck of the I-90 eastbound ramp over I-271. Tentative completion date: October 31, 2010.
Saturday, October 16:
State Route 237 (Airport Freeway) Pavement Repairs & Paving, Cleveland
On Saturday, October 16, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will continue work to resurface the ramps to the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Beginning at 7:30 a.m. resurfacing work will take place at the interchange of Brookpark Road and SR 237. Intermittent ramp closures are expected, however access will be maintained. At approximately 1 p.m. crews will close the Interstate 71/SR 237 southbound exit ramp to the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The ramp will remain closed until 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Motorists will be directed to use Snow Road to State Route 237 northbound to access the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. State Route 237 traffic will be maintained in both directions. Crews work to resurface the I-480 westbound ramp to SR 237 southbound and the Brookpark Road ramp to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Crews work weeknights, 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. Only minor disruptions to traffic are expected. Tentative completion date: October 15, 2010.
Weekend Long Work:
I-71 Bridge Painting, Cleveland and Village of Linndale
On Saturday, October 16, crews will close the left two lanes of I-71 southbound between the Norfolk Southern Railroad and West 130th from 9 a.m. through 7 a.m. Monday, October 18 as crews work to paint overhead bridges. Through approximately Monday, October 25, the I-71 northbound marginal road exit ramp at West 130th Street/Bellaire Road will be closed as crews work to paint the overhead bridge. Bellaire Road will remain accessible via the W. 130th Street ramp system. The entire project paints the following bridges along I-71: West 130th Street, Bellaire Road, Memphis Avenue and Norfolk Southern. Tentative completion date: October 30, 2010.
