Weekend Work for May 30 through June 2

May 30, 2008, Garfield Heights, OHIn addition to permanent work zones and daily work plan, the following construction work is scheduled to take place over the coming days in Cuyahoga county.


Weekend-long Closure(s)

Newburg & South Shore Rail Bridges over I-77, Painting, Cuyahoga Heights Village

Overnight Friday, May 30 crews will close multiple lanes of I-77 northbound between Grant and Harvard from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday, May 31.  One lane will remain closed until approximately 6 a.m. on Monday, June 2.


Friday, May 30:

I-90 Resurfacing between W. 44th St. and I-490, Cleveland

Overnight Friday, May 30 crews will close the I-71/SR 176 northbound ramp to I-90 westbound from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. in order to perform work on the ramp.  Motorists will be detoured via I-490 eastbound, exit at Broadway to I-490 westbound and on to I-90 westbound.


I-480 Resurfacing between W. 130th and the Rocky River Bridge, Brook Park, ClevelandOvernight Friday, May 30 crews will close the I-71 NB ramp to I-480 EB from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Motorists may detour via Grayton Rd.  Crews will then open the above ramp and close the I-71 NB ramp to I-480 WB from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m.  Motorists may detour via Tiedeman Rd.  Closures are necessary as crews remove portable concrete barrier and re-stripe the ramps.  If Friday night work is canceled due to weather, work will be moved to Saturday night using the same hours.  The I-71 NB ramp to I-480 EB will be fully open to traffic after the work is complete.  Crews currently work to replace the I-480 WB ramp to I-71 SB.  One lane remains closed; one lane remains open for access. 


Saturday, May 31:

I-77 over I-480, Bridge Deck Replacement, Independence

On Saturday, May 31 crews will close the left lanes of the ramps from I-77 southbound to I-480 eastbound and I-77 northbound to I-480 westbound from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. in order to perform clean-up operations.
