​Ohio First Lady Is Safe Routes to School Ambassador 

Karen Waldbillig Kasich is lacing up her walking shoes and donning her bike helmet on behalf of Ohio’s 1.2 million students in grades K-8 as Ambassador for the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School educational campaign.

As a mom and believer in good exercise, Mrs. Kasich encourages walking and bicycling to school, which can have many positive outcomes for children:
  • Builds a foundation for a healthy life
  • Improves attention spans and concentration
  • Helps kids grow into self-reliant, independent adults, something
    all parents want for their children

Mrs. Kasich urges all Ohio parents, families, teachers and schools to join the Safe Routes to School program in their area. Creating future leaders and productive citizens is important for our entire state. We want Ohio kids to have the best – and be the best!
