Warren Schlatter, P.E., P.S.
Warren Schlatter has worked for the Defiance County Engineer’s office since 1991, as County Engineer since 2005. Defiance County has been a pioneer in the use of Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil (GRS) and has the most bridges with GRS foundations in the United States. Defiance County has been involved in instrumenting and monitoring a number of bridges related to this effort. Other areas of research interest and past experience include: road base reinforcement with geosynthetics, chemical stabilization of road bases\subbases, work toward development of a “flexible concrete” to be used as a replacement for asphalt in a flexible pavement system, fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) use in bridges, and safety edge.
