COLUMBUS Director Gordon Proctor announced today the appointment of Matt Selhorst as deputy director for the Ohio Department of Transportations Division of Planning, Carla Cefaratti as deputy director for the Division of Local Programs and Mike Cope as deputy director for the Division of Finance and Forecasting.
"The knowledge and experience Matt, Carla and Mike bring with them will be invaluable in their new positions," said Proctor. "They will be excellent additions to the ODOT leadership team."
Selhorst will be responsible for the departments offices of Planning and Technical Services. The Office of Planning works with metropolitan planning organizations, municipalities and counties interested in establishing or improving existing transportation facilities. The office also conducts studies of interstate highways and arterial systems to ensure effectiveness and safety. ODOTs Technical Services office is responsible for the departments highway data collection and analysis including developing future traffic levels and determining Ohios pavements conditions.
Selhorst has been with ODOT since 1993 and has masters degrees in City and Regional Planning and in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University. He received a bachelors of arts degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Miami University.
Cefaratti will oversee ODOTs offices of Local Assistance, Aviation and Public Transportation. The newly created Local Assistance office will provide technical assistance to local governments regarding locally administered highway projects. The Aviation office oversees ODOTs airport improvement program, registering Ohio aircrafts and inspecting and certifying approximately 200 Ohio airports. ODOTs Public Transportation Office provides financial and technical assistance to communities and transit authorities, and coordinates transit programs with public and private agencies. Cefaratti an ODOT employee since 1983 and has a bachelors degree in Education from Bowling Green State University.
Cope, as deputy director for the Division of Finance and Forecasting, will be responsible for ODOTs budget forecasting and state and federal accounting functions. He received a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration and a masters of Science degree in Political Science with an emphasis on Public Administration from Ohio University.
