Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference Announces Registration

Columbus  Ohio Department of Transportation Director Gordon Proctor and David Ashley, Dean of The Ohio State University College of Engineering, announced today registration is now being accepted for the 2000 Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference (OTEC).

One of the largest transportation conferences in the nation, OTEC 2000 will draw together contractors, engineers, government officials, consultants, industry representatives, professors and students to discuss the latest in transportation technologies and trends.

"ODOT is proud to co-host the OTEC conference," said Proctor. "OTEC 2000 will prove to be not just a gathering place for transportation engineers, but a symposium of best practices and knowledge-sharing which aims to foster greater gains in transportation for Ohio."

The event, held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on October 30 and 31, will feature technical sessions, an exhibitors expo, and several guest addresses including an update on transportation trends by Proctor, and a look at "The Future of Ground Transportation in the Next Decade" by Anthony Downs, senior fellow, the Brookings Institution.

Further information regarding the conference, sessions and speakers can be found on the OTEC Web site, at www.otecohio.org.

The conference is open to anyone interested in transportation issues. Registration is $85 per person, and includes the Monday continental breakfast, opening and closing sessions, all technical sessions, and the Monday evening mixer.
