Signs of
Change: ODOT to Kick Off 2007 Construction Season
Department Focuses on Partnerships and Safety
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will
kick off its 2007 construction season in conjunction with National
Work Zone Safety Awareness Week. This years work includes more than
80 major highway projects that will help upgrade Ohios infrastructure
system. Several major multi-year improvement projects will wrap up
this construction season as well.
WHAT:
ODOT Director James Beasley will hold a ceremonial Statewide Kickoff
on Wednesday, April 4. Event details are below. ODOT District Offices
will be holding concurrent events.
WHEN: Wednesday, April 4 -
10:30 a.m. (Ceremonial Statewide Event)
WHO: ODOT Director James Beasley, ODOT District
Deputy Directors, representatives from the Federal Highway
Administration and local safety partners including the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and the Ohio Contractors Association.
WHERE: Ceremonial Statewide Event will be held along
Interstate 77 in the parking lot of the House of the Lord church at
1535 Frederick Blvd. Akron, Ohio. Exit number 130 from Interstate 77
(State Route 261 V. Odom Blvd.).
From I-77
northbound: Turn left at traffic signal at end of ramp onto
Frederick Blvd. Travel approximately 0.1 miles. Parking lot is on the
left with the church on the right.
From I-77 southbound:
Turn left at traffic signal at end of ramp onto V. Odom Blvd. (SR
261). Travel approximately 0.2 miles to the next traffic signal and
turn left onto Frederick Blvd. Travel approximately 0.3 miles,
continuing through the traffic signal. The parking lot is on the left
with the church on the right.
