HOLIDAY WEEKEND TRAFFIC UPDATE
COLUMBUS On
the heels of ODOTs annual Construction Season Kickoff and National
Work Zone Safety Awareness Week, motorists will see new road projects
across the state as they travel this holiday weekend. The Ohio
Department of Transportation (ODOT) strongly urges drivers to watch
for construction delays and stopped traffic and to obey posted speed
limits. ODOT works to open additional lanes of traffic or provide as
many lanes as possible during peak hours and busy travel weekends like
this one. Motorists can get up-to-date construction, road condition
and travel information at any time at
www.buckeyetraffic.org . Here
are highlights of the major projects that will impact the largest
number of travelers this weekend.
Interstate 71, Medina and Richland counties (Northeast Ohio)
Major
reconstruction and widening of I-71. Two lanes of traffic are being
maintained in each direction. Work is occurring in various locations
along the corridor. Motorists should use caution and expect congestion,
especially at the I-71/I-76 interchange. See
