Thursday’s Regularly Scheduled TRAC Meeting moved to 9:00 AM
COLUMBUS - The Ohio Transportation Review Advisory Council (TRAC) is moving up the time of its next meeting on Thursday, January 28, to 9:00 am. The meeting will still be held at the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Central Office in Columbus. This will be a voting session.
The TRAC, chaired by ODOT Director Jolene M. Molitoris, is expected to vote on a new FAST TRAC process to advance Major New transportation projects that are crucial economic drivers, have statewide or regional significance and have committed public and private sector partners.
FAST TRAC was introduced earlier this month as part of the department’s 2010-2011 Business Plan. The members of the TRAC called for this regulatory reform to “cut red tape” and capitalize on the lessons learned during ODOT’s expedited project development process under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Members may take action during the meeting under this new FAST TRAC process to advance projects that seeks approval from the TRAC but do not seek additional funding from ODOT’s major new construction budget.
More information on the FAST TRAC is available for public comment online at www.dot.state.oh.us/TRAC.
Established by Ohio Revised Code in 1997, the nine-member Transportation Review Advisory Council assists in developing a project selection process for ODOT’s largest multi-modal investments.
