ODOT: SR 315 North Returns to Normal Traffic Configuration
All northbound entrance and exit ramps now open

(Columbus) September 29, 2009- The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) says all three lanes of State Route 315 north from Interstate 670 to Ackerman Road are now open including the ramp from Interstate 670 to Ackerman Road.

ODOT says returning SR 315 north back to its normal traffic configuration prior to construction is ahead of schedule. When crews started to switch traffic on SR 315 north Friday, ODOT thought it would take a week before all lanes and ramps would be open, but work has progressed so quickly, ODOT opened all three lanes of SR 315 north this afternoon including all entrance and exit ramps, just in time for this afternoon’s commute.

Originally the ODOT improvement project on three miles of roadway and eight bridges on SR 315 was not set to be complete until October 13, but favorable weather and an aggressive schedule by the contractor, Complete General Construction, resulted in an earlier completion.

Even though SR 315 north has returned to its normal traffic configuration, drivers are reminded to follow all posted speed limit signs.

Beginning tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8 p.m., crews will begin to return SR 315 south to its normal traffic configuration with the closure of two lanes so workers can restripe the roadway.

By 5 a.m. on Thursday morning, two lanes of SR 315 south will be open and later in the day; ODOT expects all lanes of SR 315 south along with all exits and entrance ramps to be open.

In June, ODOT began a $24 million dollar construction project on SR 315. This year focused on SR 315 north and next year, crews will work on three miles of SR 315 south.
