Columbus Crossroads
I-70/I-71 South Innerbelt - February 2009 Meeting

Around 100 people attended a public hearing on February 10, 2009 at the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Comission, 111 Liberty Street, Columbus.  ODOT now has a plan to move forward with modernizing the I-70/I-71 highway project known as the South Innerbelt. ODOT and the Federal Highway Administration have agreed that using Mound-Fulton streets as one-way urban corridor streets, adding more lanes on I-70/I-71 and consolidating entrance and exit ramps, will reduce congestion and eliminate weaving, resulting in a safer freeway system.
