11th Avenue Bridge Deck Replacement Starts in 2 Days
This is not part of the I-71/670 project but it’s very close
The orange barrels are all lined up alongside both sides of Interstate 71 ready to go. This Thursday, ODOT begins a project to replace the bridge deck on 11th Avenue and that means lane restrictions and closures. The 11th Avenue Bridge project does not have anything to do with the I-71/670 Columbus Crossroads Project other than location, location, location.
Translation: Pay Attention, Avoid Distractions and Don’t Barrel through the Barrels.
Here is the schedule:
9 p.m. I-71 will be reduced to two lanes in each direction at 11th Avenue beginning at 9 prepare for the 11th Avenue bridge replacement project. The following ramps will also be closed:
All entrance and exit ramps at 11th Avenue
17th Avenue to I-71 south
5th Avenue to I-71 north

5a.m. – All ramps and lanes on I-71 will open.
9 a.m. – The 11th Avenue bridge over I-71 will close for 90 days to build a new deck.
7 p.m. – The following ramps will close:

17th Avenue to I-71 south
5th Avenue to I-71 north
9 p.m. – I-71 will close in both directions under 11th Avenue. Traffic on I-71 will be maintained using the ramps.
This means that I-71 northbound traffic will be forced to exit at 11th Avenue, and then use the 11th Avenue entrance ramp to get back on I-71 north. It works the same way for southbound traffic.
While I-71 is closed at 11th Avenue, drivers will not be able to exit or enter at 11th Avenue.
All lanes and ramps on I-71 will be open by 5 a.m. on Monday, April 2. The 11th Avenue bridge over I-71 will remain closed.
All work is weather dependent; it may be postponed or cancelled without prior notice.
