Overnight Work on Columbus Crossroads Project
(Columbus OH) – Crews on the 71/670 Columbus Crossroads Project will be working tonight to prepare for the first phase of heavy highway construction which includes bridge demolition in order to begin new bridge construction.
Beginning at 8 p.m., the ramp from Broad Street to 71 south will close for concrete barrier installation. The detour is Main Street.
At 11 p.m., the following work is planned:
71 southbound will be reduced to one lane between Long and Main Streets so crews can install portable concrete barrier.
71 northbound will be reduced to one lane between Spring Street and 5th Avenue for pavement striping.
The ramp from 670 west to 71 south will be reduced to one lane for concrete barrier installation.
While most construciton work is weather dependent, the forecasted rain should not cancel or postpone the work scheduled for tonight.
All overnight work is expected to be completed by 5 a.m. Tuesday morning, in time for the early morning commute.
