Pedestrian Tunnels

During the summer of 2010, crews on behalf of ODOT and the City of Cleveland began the eagerly anticipated Lakefront West Project by renovating both the Lake Avenue and West 76th Street tunnels connecting Cleveland’s west side neighborhoods and Lake Erie.  Rehabilitation of the existing pedestrian tunnels under the Cleveland Memorial Shoreway included improved access, lighting and drainage.  Crews completed renovation work of the Lake Avenue tunnel in August 2012 and West 76th Street tunnel in July 2013.  Both are now open for use!
