Roadway-Benefit-Cost

Benefit / Cost Ratio

Benefits of a project are an important factor for consideration which help the TRAC understand the value an individual project provides to the citizens of Ohio.  This factor is intended to quantify project value and convert that value into a score.  This is done by calculating a benefit/cost ratio.  Project benefits are ascribed a the monetized value of the project benefits compared to the total estimated cost.

The benefit/cost ratio for roadway projects is calculated by ODOT for road projects.  The benefits are based upon the roadway user benefits calculated by ODOT's statewide transporation model.
