About our Section:
The Soils Laboratory consists of Geotechnical laboratory technicians, under the supervision of a Laboratory Manager Geologist.
The laboratory technicians test the samples collected by ODOT's Geotechnical Drilling Crews according to the Specifications for Geotechnical Explorations. The laboratory is certified by AASHTO re:source to conduct the full range of index, and undisturbed strength testing on soil samples. The data generated in this testing is used in design of roadways, structures, and geohazard remediations, and is included in Soil Profiles and Structure Foundation Explorations appended to ODOT Project Plans.
