Chillicothe (Friday, December 6, 2019) – As part of the Ohio
Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning Department, the
district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a bridge replacement
project on State Route 139 in Scioto County.
(PID: 100891) - It is proposed to
replace the structure on SR 139 at the 11.38 mile mark in Scioto County,
Ohio. The project is located in a rural area of Madison Township.
Rocky Fork Creek is a perennial stream that is in the Little Scioto
River drainage basin. Within the project
area Rocky Fork Creek has drainage area of 43.3 mi².
The project area will require approximately 0.117 acres of permanent
right-of-way. The permanent
right-of-way is located along the stream channel and pasture field. No
homes or businesses will be removed by the project.
A minimum of one lane, two-way traffic on SR 139 shall be maintained
at all times by use of existing
pavement and a temporary traffic signal.
The funding for the project is 80% Federal and 20% State. The
environmental commitment date is 2/14/2019. The project is currently expected
to be awarded 4/1/2021.
