71 South Closes Temporarily for a few hours this weekend
71 South to Close temporarily this weekend for a few hours

(Columbus OH) – Interstate 71 south will close temporarily this weekend as part of the 71/670 Columbus Crossroads construction project.The closure will not occur until 12:01 Sunday morning, and 71 south will be back open before noon on Sunday.
Here is the weekend work in chronological order.
Friday night 8 p.m.
until Monday at 5 a.m.,
the ramp from 670 east to Cleveland Avenue will close so crews can work on the pavement. This is just a temporary closure, and the ramp from 670 east to Cleveland Avenue will be open by 5 a.m. Monday.
Sunday morning 12:01 a.m. until 11 a.m.,
all lanes of I-71 south will shut down just past 11
Avenue and re-routed to 670 east. The detour is 670 east to 315 south to 71.
The ramp from 11
Avenue to 71 south will also be closed.
The closures are necessary to pave the lanes.
Here are the impacts to traffic for 71 north from Sunday to 12:01 a.m. until 11 a.m.:
The ramp from 70 east to 71 north will be closed. The detour is 315 to 670 east to 71 north.
The ramp from 70 west to 71 north will be reduced to one lane.
Crews will be working on the pavement.
The ramps that will remain OPEN:
71 north to 670 east
71 north to Broad Street
Sunday night 8 p.m.,
the following ramps will close for installation of concrete barrier:
Broad Street to 71 south. The detour is Main Street to 71 south.
71north to 670 east. The detour is Leonard to 670 east.
71 south will be reduced to one lane between Long and Main Streets.
The ramp from 670 west to 71 south will be reduced to one lane.
All work on Sunday night is expected to be completed by 5 a.m. Monday morning, in time for the early morning commute.
