Major Projects and Studies

	Transportation stakeholders recently participated in round table discussions and provided comments on the future of transportation in Ohio. You can provide your comments to us here.
	A project to improve the safety of State Route 309 on the west side of Lima scheduled for 2011
	A public hearing regarding the future of State Route 195 in Hardin County was held March 3. The route has been closed since September due to embankment slides which have caused pavement failure. Information concerning the hearing can be found here.
	The reconstruction of Interstate 75 from north of Botkins to State Route 81 in Lima scheduled for 2013
	A project to improve the safety of the State Route 117/State Route 309 corridor on the east side of the city of Lima

ODOT District 1 serves the northwestern Ohio counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. The district is charged with maintaining approximately 3,200 lane miles of state and federal highway, maintaining over 800 bridge structures and for planning new construction which enhances, improves or expands the transportation system within its eight-county area. The district is headquartered in Lima, Ohio, Allen County.

The official opening of U.S. 24 from SR 101 in Indiana to Defiance took place Thursday, October 29 at 10 a.m. with a ribbon cutting featuring Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels.
