​NON-SHRINK MORTAR  (KEYWAYS)
Non-shrink Grout for Prestress - Material Code 42701​
Mortar specified on sheet 1 of 4 of Standard Drawing PSDB-1-93 for keyways between Prestressed Concrete Box Beams, for recessed tie rods and for anchor dowel holes must be non-shrink ​mortar. The list of materials below meets Item 705.22.

Keyway grouts can only be used when specified in Standard Drawing PSBD-1-93 Alternate 2.  Products will be identified by an (*.)

Preparation​
​Mortar shall be prepared, placed and cured in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Appropriate measures must be taken to ensure that the material is properly restrained from escaping out of the bottom of the joint and that the material is properly consolidated.
​
​Testing
During mixing and placement, a minimum of three (3) - 3" x 6" cylinders of grout material shall be made and submitted to OMM for testing within three days​​. Indicate the anticipated date that the structure will be subjected to construction or vehicular traffic. A minimum compressive strength of 5000 psi is required.​
