Bates Avenue Ramp Closure

Bates Avenue ramp closure

Hamilton County (Wednesday, July 31, 2013) - As work to reconstruct and improve the Interstate 75/Hopple Street interchange continues, the Bates Avenue ramp to westbound I-74 will be permanently closed on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Beginning today, a signal for a temporary replacement ramp will be placed in “flash” mode for one week.  On Aug. 7, the signal will be placed in normal signal operation with the opening of the temporary ramp.  The entrance to the ramp will be on Central Parkway, just south of Clifton Hills Avenue and across the street from DePaul Cristo Rey High School.

This temporary ramp will be in operation until the new ramp from Hopple Street to westbound I-74 is constructed and open to traffic in 2015.  Signs will be erected to direct traffic to this new ramp location.

Please note that access to northbound I-75 from the temporary ramp is not permitted.  Also, access to the two city of Cincinnati buildings on Bates Avenue will be maintained.

Arrow boards and the signal are in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming ramp closure.  To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
