10 Years of Success!
Like many great innovations, Safe Routes to Schools started with a simple idea: improve safety so more kids can walk and bike to school. And so, on August 14, 2006, Ohio named its SRTS Program Manager and began what has been a 10-year journey to make it happen. And, like many journeys, it has not been a straight line, but it has been wildly successful.
Today, SRTS has a presence in 72 of Ohio's counties and has awarded $64 million to 550 infrastructure, non-infrastructure and planning projects.
