Ohio's Firsts

Ohio isn't just first in flight. Its also had several "firsts" when it comes to Safe Routes to School. Here's a look at some of its many innovatiosn and successes.

Village of Arcadia

The Village of Arcadia was the first community to contact ODOT when the SRTS program began. The Village completed its STP in 2013 and received funding in 2014 to implement projects in their plan.

Village of Lucas Flag

The Village of Lucas was the first community STP to be approved for funding in Ohio in June 2008.

City of Oregon Flag

The first completed Ohio SRTS projects was in the City of Oregon for 4,560 feet of sidewalk along Starr Avenue. It was completed in 2008.

City of C‌incinnati Flag

The Cincinnati STP was created in 2012. It was the first large school district travel plan completed under OHio's Large School District STP process, and one of the first of its kind in the nation incorporating all 5 Es.
