I-275/SR 32 new ramp to open to traffic this weekend

I-275/SR 32 new ramp to open to traffic this weekend
CLERMONT COUNTY  (Thursday, April 24, 2014) – Work on the I-275 and SR 32 Interchange improvement project will include the following:
Friday, April 25: Work to implement a traffic switch from the existing northbound I-275 ramp to the new, longer ramp will begin at 8 p.m. Work will include the permanent closure of the eastbound SR 32 “slip/continuous ramp.” Traffic will exit to the signal at SR 32 to execute east or westbound movements. The new ramp is expected to be open to traffic by Saturday evening, April 26.
Access from I-275 to SR 32 will be maintained throughout the weekend work, though traffic may be heavy. Motorists are urged to use caution when approaching the ramp. The new ramp will exit as one lane from northbound I-275 and widen to two lanes prior to crossing the new bridge over Aicholtz Road; two lanes will continue to the intersection at SR 32. Multiple signs and a changeable message sign will be placed to alert motorists of the new traffic pattern.
By May 5, maintenance of traffic items are expected to be removed from the southbound I-275 exit ramp; this will return the exit ramp to pre-construction conditions as well as permit for a second lane on the ramp as motorists near the signal. It is ODOT’s hope that this will reduce or eliminate the slow traffic on I- 275 during peak hours. Once the switch is complete, personnel will continue to monitor the ramp and eastbound SR 32, and make necessary adjustments to signal timing.
Also in May, work will be performed on I-275 to construct the median crossovers.  Work will also continue on SR 32 from I-275 to Gleneste Withamsville Road.
