Ramp and lane
closures scheduled for overhead sign work
Hamilton
County
(Thursday, April 9, 2015) – In order to erect box trusses across all
lanes of the West Sixth Street Expressway, nightly closures of eastbound Sixth
Street will be in place next week.
Beginning
at 10 p.m. each night Monday, April 13 through Thursday, April 16, eastbound
Sixth Street will be closed from Freeman Avenue to downtown, with the ramps
from I-71/I-75/Fort Washington Way also closed. The road and ramps will be open
by 5 a.m. the following day.
Eastbound
Sixth Street traffic will be detoured to Mehring Way to Second/Third Streets to
U.S. 42 to access Fort Washington Way and northbound I-71.
North
and southbound I-75 traffic will be detoured across the West Eighth Street
Viaduct to U.S. 127 to Ezzard Charles Drive to access south or northbound I-75.
Arrow
boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming road
and ramp closures and all work is dependent on weather.
To
help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling
public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped
traffic while passing through the work zone.
