Interstate 75/I-74 Major Reconstruction project
update traffic switch scheduled
Hamilton County
(Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019) - The first stage of
construction on the I-75/I-74 Major Reconstruction Project includes pavement resurfacing, bridge deck
patching, and drainage improvements on west I-74 from I-75 to Beekman Street.
Thursday,
Jan. 3:
- Various lane closures on NORTH AND south I-75
BETWEEN Mitchell Avenue AND Monmouth Street from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
- Short-term full closures on I-75 between midnight and 4
a.m. Traffic will be maintained by law enforcement officers.
- Close the ramp from south I-75 to west I-74 from 11
p.m. to 5 a.m. The detour uses Hopple Street to the west I-74 ramp.
Friday, Jan. 4:
- Various lane closures on north I-75 from Monmouth
Street to Mitchell Avenue from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
- Short-term full closures on I-75 between midnight and 4
a.m. Traffic will be maintained by law enforcement officers.
- Close the ramp from Hopple Street to north I-75 from 10
p.m. to 5 a.m. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Saturday,
Jan. 5: The following restrictions
will be in effect from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. for a traffic switch.
Once complete, one lane of east I-74
will be placed in a contraflow lane, shifted across the median to the west I-74
side.
East I-74 traffic to north I-75 must use
the left lane PRIOR TO THE BEEKMAN STREET INTERCHANGE.
Traffic will remain in this pattern until July 2019.
- CLOSE THE RAMP FROM COLERAIN AVENUE/BEEKMAN STREET TO
EAST I-74 FROM 10 P.M. TO 5 A.M.
- Various lane closures on east and west I-74 between
Montana Avenue and the I-75/I-74 interchange from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.
- Short-term full closures on I-74 between midnight and 4
a.m. Traffic will be maintained by law enforcement officers.
Sunday,
Jan. 6:
- CLOSE THE RAMP FROM MITCHELL AVENUE TO SOUTH I-75 FROM
10 P.M. TO 5 A.M.
- Lane closures on east and west I-74 between Montana
Avenue and the I-75/I-74 interchange from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Short-term full closures on I-74 between midnight and 4
a.m. Traffic will be maintained by law enforcement officers.
Arrow
boards and/or signs will alert motorists of the work zone and restrictions. All
work is contingent upon the weather.
To help ensure the
safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists
should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while
passing through the work zone. Remember, move over or slow down.
