60 Day Closure for SR 741 Announced

State Route 741 to close for 60 days

Closure to accommodate bridge construction

Warren County (Monday, Feb. 22, 2010)  To accommodate construction work on two bridges,  State Route 741 will require a 60-day closure from SR 63 to just south of its intersection with U.S. 42.

The closure is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Monday, March 8, and end at 5 p.m. Friday, May 7. Work on the first bridge, located just south of the intersection of U.S. 42 in the city of Mason, will replace the bridge deck. Work on the second bridge, located two miles north of U.S. 42, will replace the entire structure.

The detour will divert traffic to Interstate 71 to the SR 48 Bypass to SR 63. Traffic wishing to access SR 741 between the two bridges will need to use U.S. 42.

Construction on the two bridges is being performed at the same time in an effort to expedite the reopening of SR 741 to accommodate the influx of traffic expected for nearby summer attractions.

The $1.460 million project was awarded to Complete General Construction Company.
