Bridge Deck Replacement Project
Slated To Begin In Clermont County
Lebanon (Wednesday, January 29, 2020) – Construction is scheduled to begin the week of February 24 on replacing the bridge deck on the Happy Hollow Bridge over state Route 28 Bypass.
The bridge rehabilitation project includes demolition of the existing deck, retaining wall parapet reconstruction, sidewalk extension, vandal protection fence and vertical curve correction.
Throughout construction, traffic on Bypass S.R. 28 will be maintained except for various nightly closures during bridge beam removal and beam erection. During the closures, motorists will be detoured locally. Happy Hollow Road will be reduced to one lane, and traffic will be maintained with temporary signals.
A contract was awarded to Sunesis Construction Company for approximately $1.9 million to rehab the Happy Hollow Road bridge deck, and the contract completion is scheduled for late spring of 2021.
