(Wednesday, August 6, 2014) –Water main replacement will require closing
Chestnut Street at the intersection of U.S. 27 in the city of Oxford.
Beginning
at 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, Chestnut Street will be closed and will remain
closed until the work is complete, or until approximately Sunday evening. The
posted detour will utilize Campus Avenue and Spring Street.
Arrow
boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming road
closure and detour.
To
help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling
public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped
traffic while passing through the work zone.
