Duck Creek Connector Project Completed
HAMILTON CO. (Dec. 12,
2017) – Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 8 Deputy Director Tammy
Campbell announced today that the Duck Creek Connector project will be open to
traffic by 3 p.m.
“These improvements will provide better connectivity, congestion
relief and opportunities for additional job creation in the area,” said
Campbell.
ODOT and the city of Cincinnati partnered on the Duck Creek
Connector project. This project created a new road that established a direct
link between Duck Creek and Madison roads at MedPace Way in Madisonville.
The project will help to reduce congestion along Red Bank Road, open
new economic development opportunities and enhance aspects of pedestrian and
bicycle travel.
“A unique aspect of this project was our ability to share ongoing
construction information with teachers at John P. Parker Elementary who in turn
used it in the schools Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
program," said Campbell. “This provided the students with in-depth
knowledge to what was happening right outside of their window.”
Minor work on the project is expected to continue through spring 2018.
Construction on the $7.4 million project began in October 2016.
