Full closure of
I-75 rescheduled for Dec. 8 and
Dec. 10

(Friday, Dec. 5, 2014) – The full closure of southbound I-75 between the
SR 562 and Mitchell Avenue interchanges originally scheduled for this weekend
will now take place Monday, Dec. 8 and Wednesday, Dec. 10.
Closures
for the railroad
bridge replacement project are as follows:
Saturday, Dec. 6 - Closure
of SR 562 ramp to southbound I-75 and single lane closure on southbound I-75 at
7 p.m., followed by double lane closure at 10 p.m., with all lanes reopened to
traffic by 6 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7
Monday, Dec. 8 - Closure
of SR 562 ramp to southbound I-75 at 9 p.m., followed by full closure of
southbound I-75 at 11 p.m. with all lanes reopened to traffic by 6 a.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 9. Suggested
detour is west on I-275 to east on I-74 to I-75. The ramp from southbound I-75
to eastbound SR 562 will be open to traffic as well.
Tuesday, Dec. 9 - Closure
of SR 562 ramp to southbound I-75 at 9 p.m.; single lane closure on southbound
I-75 at 8 p.m., followed by double lane closure at 11 p.m., with all lanes
reopened to traffic by 6 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10
Wednesday, Dec. 10 - Closure
of SR 562 ramp to southbound I-75 at 9 p.m., followed by full closure of
southbound I-75 at 11 p.m. with all lanes reopened to traffic by 6 a.m.
Thursday, Dec. 11. Suggested
detour is west on I-275 to east on I-74 to I-75. The ramp from southbound I-75
to eastbound SR 562 will be open to traffic as well.
Thursday, Dec. 11 - Closure
of SR 562 ramp to southbound I-75 at 9 p.m.; single lane closure on southbound
I-75 at 8 p.m., followed by double lane closure at 11 p.m., with all lanes
reopened to traffic by 6 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12. Also, a rolling road block will
be in place on southbound I-7.
Friday, Dec. 12 - Closure
of SR 562 ramp to southbound I-75 at 9 p.m.; single lane closure on north and
southbound I-75 at 8 p.m., followed by double lane closure on southbound I-75
at 11 p.m., with all lanes reopened to traffic by 6 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.
All work
is dependent on the weather. Traffic will be maintained with law enforcement
officers, and arrow boards and signs will be in place to alert motorists of the
upcoming closure and detour. To help ensure
the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public,
motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic
while passing through the work zone.
