Interstate 275 Repaving and Bridge Work Project Update


 

Hamilton County (Friday, April 19, 2019) - The Interstate 275 repaving and bridge work project requires the following restrictions next week:

  • Deck work on the Combs Hehl Bridge requires closing exit Nos. 71 (U.S. 52/East Kellogg Avenue) and 72 (U.S. 52/West Kellogg Avenue) daily from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, April 22 through Wednesday morning, April 24. The Kellogg Avenue ramp to east I-275 will be open. The detour uses Exit 69 (Five Mile Road) to west I-275. The contraflow lane will remain open. The speed limit in this area will be reduced to 50 mph.
  • Various lane closures on Kellogg Avenue at the I-275 overpass from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily beginning Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26. Traffic will be maintained.
  • Various lane restrictions on Kentucky Route 8 (Mary Ingles Highway) between River and Blangey roads from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily on Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26.
  • Various restrictions on east I-275 from the Kentucky side of the Combs-Hehl Bridge to Four Mile Road from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. daily beginning Monday, April 22 through Sunday, April 28. Traffic will be maintained.
  • Various lane closures on east I-275 from Kellogg Avenue to U.S. 52 nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28 (Ramp # 71 - U.S. 52/East Kellogg Avenue will be open).

The following restrictions remain in place for trucks entering Ohio from Kentucky:

  • 10’ wide
  • 75’ overall length
  • Weight restriction of 120,000 lbs.

Arrow boards and/or signs will alert motorists of the work zone and restrictions. All work is contingent upon the weather.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
