Interstate 71 lane and ramp closures scheduled near Lytle Tunnel
 
Hamilton County (Monday, March 7, 2016) – The following restrictions will be in place this week on southbound Interstate 71 south of the Reading Road exit to the Lytle Tunnel.
 
The right lane of southbound I-71 will close beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, reopening at 5 a.m. the following day.
 
The two left lanes of southbound I-71 will close beginning at 10 p.m., Thursday, March 10, reopening at 5 a.m. the following day. In addition, the Third Street ramp will be closed during this time.
 
The two left lanes of southbound I-71 will close beginning at 10 p.m., Friday, March 11, reopening at 8 a.m. the following day. In addition, the Third Street ramp will close beginning at 1 a.m. until 7 a.m. Saturday, March 12. Short-term full closures of southbound I-71 may also be in effect between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday.
 
Traffic will be maintained with law enforcement officers. Once work is complete, traffic will be shifted to the west (right) side of southbound Interstate 71; this lane shift will be in place through the Lytle Tunnel for approximately six months.
 
Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming lane and ramp closures.
 
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
