I-74/75 Major Reconstruction Project to Start in September

 

Interstate 75/I-74 Major Reconstruction project scheduled to start in September

Hamilton County (Thursday, July 26, 2018)Major construction on Interstates 75 and 74 will begin in September. The $87 million, Phase 5A of the Mill Creek Expressway group of projects includes:
  • Rebuilding existing, and adding a fourth lane to, I-75 between Monmouth Street and Mitchell Avenue;
  • Full depth pavement replacement on east I-74 from west of the Colerain/Beekman/ Elmore interchanges and I-75;
  • New decks on the I-74 bridges at Spring Grove Avenue, Mill Creek and the Norfolk/Southern and CSX railroads;
  • New ramp from east I-74 to north I-75, including new alignment due to widening;
  • Replace the I-75 bridge over west I-74;
  • Convert south I-75 exit to Hopple Street into a dual lane exit; and
  • Lighting and drainage improvements and retaining wall construction
The project was awarded to Walsh Construction Company and is scheduled to be complete in summer, 2022.
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
