I-74 Lane Closure in Place

Center lane closure in place on Interstate 74

Hamilton County (Friday, April 8, 2011) –The center lane of eastbound Interstate 74 is closed for pavement repair. The closure, which may remain in place overnight, is located just west of State Route 128.

In addition, various single lane closures are scheduled next week for eastbound I-74 between the Great Miami River and the I-74/I-275 interchange. The closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Arrow boards and signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming lane closures.

Motorists are reminded that a newly implemented traffic pattern carries one lane of eastbound I-74 traffic on westbound I-74; this eastbound traffic lane is in addition to the two lanes on eastbound I-74. A message board is in place to remind motorists to stay in their lane as they travel through the construction zone.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
