Intersection improvement project slated to begin

Intersection improvement project slated to begin at Reading and Hauck roads

Hamilton County (Wednesday, July 8, 2015) – An improvement project at the intersection of Reading and Hauck roads is scheduled to start Monday, July 13. Project limits on Reading Road are from Kemper Road to Crescentville Road.

Reading Road will be closed north of Hauck Road for 30 days beginning Monday, July 13. All businesses north of Hauck Road will have access and driveways maintained. The detour is Kemper Road to Mosteller Road to Crescentville Road back to Reading Road.

Improvements include adding a two-way left turn lane through the majority of the corridor, left and right turn lane additions and traffic signal replacement at the intersection of Reading and Hauck roads. Also, an existing curve will be realigned to improve safety and a shared use bike path on the west side of Reading Road will be constructed. Improvements on Hauck Road include widening for the addition of a left turn lane from westbound Hauck Road at Reading Road.

Lane widths will be reduced to 10 feet during construction and the scheduled project completion date is August 2015.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming full closure.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
