Interstate 71 Repaving Projects Update
Hamilton County (Friday, Oct. 12, 2018) - The Interstate 71 repaving
projects require the following restrictions:
- Close the ramps from Reading Road to south I-471 and
from south I-71 to south I-471 nightly from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday,
Oct. 14 through Wednesday morning, Oct. 17. Only one ramp will be closed
at a time.
- Various lane closures on north and south I-71 between
State Route 562 and the Lytle Tunnel nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
Sunday, Oct. 14 through Saturday morning, Oct. 20.
- Single lane closures on Stewart Road between the north
I-71 off ramp and the south I-71 on ramp nightly from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.
Monday, Oct. 15 through Saturday morning, Oct. 20.
- Various lane closures on south I-71 between SR 126 and
Ridge Road nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 through
Saturday, Oct. 20. During this time, at approximately 4 p.m. Friday, Oct.
19, two lanes of south I-71 approaching Red Bank Road will be shifted to
the outside lanes.
- Continued closure of the ramp from north Red Bank Road
to south I-71 through 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23. The detour uses north I-71
to Stewart Road to south I-71.
- Continuous right lane closure on north I-71 between
Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Dana Avenue through 6 a.m. Wednesday,
Oct. 31. The Martin Luther King Jr. Drive ramp to north I-71 will merge
with through traffic at the bottom of the ramp; the Dana Avenue exit will
remain open.
- The left lane of south I-71 is a contraflow lane, using
the left lane of north I-71. Traffic will remain in this pattern until
May, 2019.
Arrow boards and/or
signs will alert motorists of the upcoming restrictions. All work is contingent
upon weather.
To help ensure the
safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists
should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while
passing through the work zone. Move over or slow down.
