Public Information Meeting Scheduled for US 27 Reroute Proposal

Snowstorm postpones Oxford U.S. 27 public meeting

Meeting to be recheduled at a date to be announced later

Butler County (Friday, Jan. 14, 2011) A meeting for public review and comment on the proposed Butler-Oxford U.S. 27 reroute study project, originally scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 20, has been postponed to a date to be announced later.

The meeting will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Talawanda High School Auditeria, 101 W. Chestnut St., Oxford. This meeting will present exhibits on the proposed project for the public to view as well as present data of the traffic impact study associated with this proposal.

The meeting will be held in an “open house” format, which will provide the opportunity for the public to attend the meeting at one’s convenience between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. Project team representatives will be available to answer questions and take comments.

The Butler-Oxford U.S. 27 reroute study, formerly referred to as the Butler-Oxford Connector Project, is located in the city of Oxford. This project arose following the completion of the Northwest Butler Transportation Study, which recommended a connector road between U.S. 27 and State Route 73 southeast of the city of Oxford as a possible solution to improve pedestrian safety on U.S. 27 and improve traffic flow.

Comments may be made at the meeting or up to 21 days after the meeting. Comments may be posted at www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D08/Pages/CommentsonPublicMeetings.aspx by Feb. 11.
