SR 177 and Oxford Germantown Rd. Changing to Four-way Stop

State Route 177 and Oxford Germantown Rd. Changing to Four-way Stop

Preble County (August 2, 2018) – The conversion of the intersection of State Route 177 and Oxford Germantown Rd. in Israel Township from a two-way stop to a four-way stop should be completed by Wednesday, August 22.
This four-way stop conversion is to help reduce a growing amount of severe angle crashes at the intersection. The project will also install a red overhead flasher at the intersection and dual flashing LED-lit “stop ahead” warning signs on SR 177 to alert motorists of the stop. The existing LED-lit stop signs on Oxford Germantown Rd. and the new additions are intended to increase awareness of the four-way stop at the intersection.
Arrow boards and/or signs will alert motorists of the work zone. All work is contingent upon the weather.
To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
