US 68 closure in Greene Co. begins June 6

U.S. 68 road closures begin June 6

Greene County (Thursday, June 2, 2016) – Bridge work will require closing U.S. Route 68 over Painters Creek and Shawnee Creek. The closures will occur as follows:

June 6 through June 10: U.S. 68 just north of the Greene/Clinton County line will require various lane closures between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. On June 13 U.S. 68 at this location will be reduced to one lane for approximately 120 days.

June 20: U.S. 68 just north of U.S. 35 will be reduced to one lane for approximately 30 days.

Traffic will be maintained through the use of a temporary signal. Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming road closure. All work is dependent upon weather.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
