Waldvogel Viaduct Project Update - April 30

Waldvogel Viaduct Improvement Project
Lane closures scheduled for bridge beam erection

Hamilton County (Thursday, April 26, 2012) – As part of the Waldvogel Viaduct Improvement project, structural steel beams will be erected on U.S. 50 at State Avenue.

During these operations, which will take place nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the weeks of April 30 and May 7, there will be total closures on east and westbound U.S. 50 at State Avenue, and on State Avenue at U.S. 50.  Closures will last for approximately 15 minutes, or until such time as the steel is safely secured.  Traffic will be released and allowed to clear before the next total closure.  The contractor may follow up with various lane closures using flagging operations if necessary.

**Vehicles over 16 tons are restricted from using the existing viaduct**

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming lane and full closures.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
