Wilmington Road bridge short-term closure and
lane closures scheduled
Warren County (Monday, April 16, 2018) - Bridge work requires long-term
lane closures on the Wilmington Road bridge over Interstate 71 (mile marker 37)
beginning Friday, April 20.
The Wilmington Road
bridge will be reduced to one lane of two-way traffic beginning Friday, April
20 for approximately 150 days, or until mid-September. The north side of the
bridge, carrying westbound traffic, will be closed first. Traffic will be
maintained with temporary traffic signals.
In addition, the
Wilmington Road bridge will be closed for no more than 36 consecutive hours
from 6 p.m. Saturday, April 21 to 6 a.m. Monday, April 23. West
Wilmington Road traffic can use State Route 73 to I-71; east Wilmington Road
traffic can use SR 123 to I-71.
Arrow boards and/or
signs are in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone, lane and road
restrictions. All work is contingent upon the weather.
To help ensure the
safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists
should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while
passing through the work zone.
